Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi Business & Science Accelerator on Wednesday launched the “2026 Gyeonggi AI Digital Learning Center” program, an initiative aimed at strengthening digital literacy and artificial intelligence capabilities among residents across the region.

The program is designed as an inclusive educational platform, allowing individuals who face challenges in using digital technology to access training in AI and essential digital skills in a convenient and practical manner. Officials said the initiative reflects growing demand for accessible digital education as technology becomes increasingly embedded in daily life.

This year, the province plans to deliver customized training to around 150,000 participants, including digitally vulnerable groups, youth, middle-aged adults and small business owners. Courses are tailored by generation and proficiency level, ensuring that learners can engage with content suited to their experience.

The curriculum spans a broad spectrum of topics, ranging from basic digital applications such as smartphone use, kiosk navigation and mobile financial services, to more advanced areas including generative AI, data literacy and digital ethics. Participants can choose from beginner, intermediate and advanced courses, enabling a step-by-step learning pathway.

A key focus of the 2026 program is hands-on training in generative AI. Learners will receive practical instruction in AI-driven document creation, image generation and workflow automation. Additional courses targeting young people and entrepreneurs will cover online business development, content creation and AI-powered social media marketing.

To ensure accessibility, the program also includes foundational classes for residents unfamiliar with digital devices, covering essential smartphone functions, access to public services and the use of unmanned ordering systems. Outreach efforts will be expanded through mobile classrooms and an “Edu Bus” service aimed at older adults and residents in digitally underserved areas, helping bridge regional and generational gaps in digital access.
