HKU SPACE has entered a strategic partnership with Google Cloud Hong Kong, signing a Memorandum of Understanding on Thursday aimed at accelerating AI-driven transformation across teaching, learning, curriculum development, and institutional operations.
Through this collaboration, HKU SPACE will integrate Google’s advanced AI technologies, including Gemini Enterprise for Education, into its educational ecosystem. The tools are expected to enhance teaching and learning efficiency while providing students with a more personalized learning experience.
The partnership encompasses four strategic pillars: the technical integration of Gemini Enterprise into HKU SPACE’s e-learning platform, the establishment of a Google Cloud AI Lab, the creation of an HKU SPACE x Google AI Prompt Library, and collaboration on AI-focused program and curriculum development. HKU SPACE and Google Cloud HK will work jointly to design courses, integrate AI into existing curricula, and provide guidance on prototyping AI solutions that tackle real-world challenges.
In addition, learners will have opportunities to develop practical skills through professional training and certification sessions led by Google experts. The partnership will also raise awareness of AI education through promotional activities at flagship events.

Lee, professor at HKU SPACE, described the agreement as a “significant milestone in our digital transformation journey,” emphasizing that it will enable the school to leverage world-class AI technology to enhance teaching, streamline operations, and strengthen data-driven quality assurance.
According to HKU SPACE, this collaboration represents an important step in advancing AI education in Hong Kong and aligns with the city’s broader vision of becoming an international innovation and technology hub and a smart city.
