Tesla has announced the long-anticipated rollout of its Full Self-Driving (FSD) system in China, marking a significant step in the company’s global expansion of advanced driver-assistance technology.
The move comes just one week after CEO Elon Musk visited Beijing as part of a high-profile delegation accompanying former US President Donald Trump, highlighting the growing importance of China in Tesla’s strategic roadmap.
The introduction of FSD in China is expected to intensify competition in a market that has already begun embracing higher levels of vehicle automation. Notably, China has legalized Level 3 (L3) automated driving, allowing vehicles to operate autonomously under certain conditions, positioning the country as a key testing ground for next-generation mobility solutions.
Tesla confirmed via social media that its “FSD Supervised” system is now available not only in China but also across nine other markets, including the United States, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, and the Netherlands. The system still requires driver oversight but represents a major advancement toward fully autonomous driving.
