Zoom has expanded its Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server capabilities in a move aimed at closing one of the most persistent gaps in enterprise AI adoption: the lack of real organizational context within AI-driven workflows. As companies increasingly deploy agentic AI systems, many continue to rely on fragmented searches across documents, apps, and siloed systems, often overlooking the conversations where key decisions, tradeoffs, and commitments are actually made.

The company said its latest updates will allow organizations to securely integrate Zoom’s conversation intelligence and collaboration data into third-party AI environments, including tools such as OpenAI Codex and Anthropic’s Claude. By extending MCP access, Zoom is enabling AI systems to operate on richer, more accurate organizational context, combining meeting insights with enterprise data sources.

According to Brendan Ittelson, Zoom’s chief ecosystem officer, the effectiveness of AI workflows increases significantly when they are grounded in real operational context. The expanded MCP capabilities are designed to make Zoom’s meeting summaries, transcripts, recordings, notes, and action items accessible across a broader AI ecosystem, allowing developers and enterprises to build more context-aware applications.

A key component of the update is the introduction of conversation intelligence across AI tools. Users can now access detailed meeting outputs—including summaries, transcripts, and collaboration history—directly within supported AI environments. This is paired with enhanced agentic search functionality, enabling AI systems to reason across data from Zoom Meetings, Chat, Phone, and Canvas, as well as enterprise platforms such as Salesforce, Workday, and ServiceNow.

Zoom also unveiled a new plugin for OpenAI Codex, designed to embed meeting intelligence directly into developer workflows. The integration allows developers to pull meeting data into coding environments, supporting documentation, task tracking, and automation processes that reflect actual discussions and decisions. This reduces the need for teams to manually reconstruct meeting outcomes and helps accelerate the transition from discussion to execution.

The company is further expanding its “My Notes” feature, positioning it as a cross-platform personal intelligence layer. Through MCP, users can access notes, summaries, and action items across third-party AI tools, ensuring that personal collaboration context persists regardless of the platform being used. My Notes is designed to work across multiple meeting environments, including Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, and even in-person interactions, capturing and structuring insights into actionable outputs.

With the addition of agentic search across enterprise systems, AI tools connected via MCP can now synthesize information spanning conversations and structured data sources, including customer records, HR systems, and IT service platforms. At launch, the feature supports more than 10 third-party integrations, with additional connections expected in the coming months.

By unifying conversation intelligence with systems of record, Zoom aims to reduce the inefficiencies caused by disconnected tools and fragmented information flows. The MCP Server now acts as a central bridge, allowing AI systems to deliver more accurate, context-rich insights while maintaining security and organizational control.

The move reflects a broader industry shift toward context-aware AI, where the value of automation is increasingly tied not just to model capability, but to the quality and completeness of the data it can access. Zoom’s expansion into developer tools and enterprise systems signals its ambition to position itself as a foundational layer in this evolving AI ecosystem.
