Ooma, a provider of cloud-based communications services for businesses and consumers, has introduced a new suite of artificial intelligence capabilities called Ooma AI, designed to transform how organizations manage and analyze phone communications. The rollout brings a range of AI-driven tools into Ooma Office, including AI Transcriptions, AI Answering Service, AI Receptionist (beta), AI Insights (beta), and an integration with OpenAI’s API, aiming to streamline call handling and improve operational efficiency.
The new system focuses on automating the full lifecycle of business calls — from answering and transcription to analysis and follow-up. With AI Transcriptions, calls are automatically converted into searchable text and concise summaries, allowing teams to quickly review conversations without replaying recordings or relying on manual notes. Users can also leverage an “Ask AI” function to extract key details, action items, and contextual insights from individual calls, improving collaboration across sales, support, and operations teams.
